Yesterday KiKi (Kinsey Kitten) had her one month appointment. She now weighs 7lbs 11oz and is 20.75 in. long. That puts her in the 25-50 percentile for length and head circumference, but only the 10th percentile for weight. What can I say? She's petite :)
The last month has definitely been challenging. After fighting it and fighting it (including meeting with two lactation consultants, visiting a specialist at Children's Hospital, and multiple visits with her primary doctor) we've come to terms with the fact that Kinsey just isn't a good nurser, but she takes a bottle like a champ. So, why continue to force something that isn't working? Since switching to bottles everyone is much happier. And, as an added bonus, the pediatrician told me to have one beer a night. Who am I to go against doctor's orders?
We're excited to report that KiKi has started smiling! She also enjoys watching the ladybug in her mobile and the cats are beginning to interest her (slightly). Unfortunately, the cats are not yet interested in her...
